It's still the wild west with video editing and AMD GPU's. Of course I was starting with zero prior experience. Took me all winter to master the two apps well enough to accomplish the transcode/upscale with no loss in resolution. Using these two apps I've taken old 720P videos and converted them to 1080P full screen with no bars at all. DaVinci Resolve works pretty well for video editing and definitely sees the GPU, though doesn't get anywhere near the GPU utilization that Handbrake gets. It's crazy how fast AMD's built in encoders chew through the data. Selecting the AMD VCE options for h.264 or h.265 has shown 70% GPU utilization rates in Task Manage/Performance. ![]() ![]() I know it's not your precise question, but Handbrake works pretty well for doing video transcoding work.
